History of Thangasseri Beach:
Thangasseri beach is essentially a part of the small town Thangasseri. It was a Portuguese colony, and then a Dutch colony. Finally, Thangasseri came under the English dominion.

Thangasseri Lighthouse is open for public visits from 5.30-7.30 pm in the evening. Thangasseri Fort is another major tourist attraction. It has the ruins of a few Portuguese and Dutch Forts of the bygone ages.
